I'm Janusz Furrer, a Polish-Swiss photographer focused on black and white street and architectural photography.
My work explores the tension between presence and absence - how light, space, and time shape the way we move through urban environments. I’m drawn to fleeting gestures, fractured reflections, blurred motion, and the quiet architecture of everyday life. Whether through long exposure, stark silhouettes, or minimalist frames, I seek images that linger just beyond the edge of clarity.
I work primarily in monochrome to reduce distraction and deepen focus — light becomes both subject and structure.
Ongoing projects include:
Ca. 1/4 of a Second – A study of time stretched through motion and light
Privacy of Light – Moments of solitude and disconnection in public space
No One Here – A search for abstraction and absence in the built world
Details Matter – Observations of intimacy and identity through texture, gesture, and form
I photograph mainly across Switzerland and Europe, using Leica equipment. My work has been featured by Leica USA and selected as Leica Mastershots on LFI.
